Sverdlovsk's Green Revolution: 90% of Landscaping Projects Near Completion

The Sverdlovsk region has transformed its public spaces, with over 90% of landscaping projects now near completion. A newly opened park in Malysheva village stands out as a key example, featuring modern amenities and decorative lighting. The push for greener, more functional areas has gained strong public support across the region.

Since 2017, the region has revitalised 3,334 public and courtyard areas. This year alone, 39 new landscaping projects are underway, funded by federal resources. Of these, 16 have already been finished, while 27 began before 2023.

In Malysheva village, the freshly opened park now offers a skate park, outdoor exercise equipment, spectator stands, and relaxation zones. Decorative light installations add to the welcoming atmosphere. The project was among 26 large-scale developments recognised in a national competition.

Meanwhile, in Asbestos, work continues on the square near the Gorky Culture Centre. The initiative received backing from over 9,000 local residents through public voting. Landscaping efforts are spreading to all populated areas, ensuring broader access to improved green spaces.

The region's landscaping drive has already delivered 26 award-winning projects, with more nearing completion. Residents in Asbestos and beyond have actively shaped these changes through public participation. The ongoing upgrades aim to provide functional, well-designed spaces for communities across Sverdlovsk.
