Uttar Pradesh overhauls school education with new academic leadership

The Uttar Pradesh government is transforming school education under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. A new academic human resource framework is being created to improve the quality of government schools across the state. The state is focusing on strong human resources and data-based monitoring to bring lasting change. Appointments are underway for key roles, including Academic Resource Persons (ARPs), District Coordinators (NIPUN), SRG members, ECCE Educators, and Special Teachers.

The SRG system is being expanded to strengthen teacher training and academic leadership at the state level. Meanwhile, District Coordinator (NIPUN) appointments are being completed rapidly, with 39 districts already selected and others in the final stages. ECCE Educator appointments are also progressing quickly to bolster foundational education.

Several districts, including Deoria, Hathras, Basti, Kaushambi, Aligarh, Siddharthnagar, and Kushinagar, now have high ARP availability. Varanasi leads the state with 100% ARP coverage. The government aims to build trained, capable, and accountable academic leadership. This effort is expected to enhance teacher capacities and improve learning outcomes in government schools across Uttar Pradesh.
