Nur District transforms Astana with new roads, schools and utilities

Nur District in Astana is rapidly expanding as a major hub for urban development. Over the past few years, the area has become a driving force for the city’s growth, with new infrastructure and social facilities transforming daily life for residents. In 2024, the district completed renovations in 19 courtyards. Nine of these projects fell under the 'Participatory Budget' scheme, encouraging community involvement in local improvements.

New roads and public spaces have already lifted living standards. Tole Bi Street is now a key route, connecting freshly built residential zones. However, E-68 Street between A. Bekurov Street and Tole Bi Street remains unfinished, causing temporary traffic delays.

Education and social services are expanding quickly. By early 2025, three of nine planned new schools had opened for the academic year. A state kindergarten, No. 99 'Büldirshin,' with 300 places, also launched in 2025. By late 2026, an 800-student inclusive school for children with special needs will be ready.

Utility upgrades are equally impressive. Workers laid 170 km of gas pipelines, allowing nearly 4,900 households to access the network. More than 200 social facilities, from schools to healthcare centres, are under construction between 2025 and 2026. The district’s growth is visible in its roads, schools, and public services. Residents now enjoy better access to education, healthcare, and housing. Further improvements are expected as ongoing projects reach completion.
