Mumbai Honors Eight Trailblazing Women Entrepreneurs at Inspiring Event

An event celebrating women entrepreneurship recently took place in Mumbai. The theme, 'Celebrating Women Entrepreneurship - From Sankalp to Samriddhi,' highlighted the achievements of eight inspiring women. They were recognised for their outstanding contributions across various fields. Mumbai’s mayor, Ritu Tawde, spoke at the event about the vital role women play in the city’s financial growth. She noted that Indian women can balance traditional and modern responsibilities, such as managing a household and financial matters. Tawde also believes that women’s equal participation in the economy could significantly boost the country’s GDP.

Artist and entrepreneur Rouble Nagi shared her perspective on the impact of women in business. She stated that a single woman entrepreneur can transform the lives of hundreds through her work. Tawde, who began her public life with a women’s self-help group, emphasised the importance of supporting women in unorganised sectors.

Priyam Gandhi Mody offered advice to aspiring women entrepreneurs. She outlined five key components for success: dreaming big, pursuing excellence, staying vigilant, believing in divine intervention, and remaining focused. Ravikant Mishra, secretary of HEF, explained that the organisation regularly hosts such events to foster an economic ecosystem for women entrepreneurs.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced plans to introduce financial incentives for women working in unorganised sectors. This initiative aims to further support and empower women in the workforce. The event recognised the achievements of eight women entrepreneurs. It also underscored the importance of their contributions to Mumbai’s and India’s economic growth. The BMC’s upcoming financial incentives signal continued support for women in unorganised sectors.
