Vladivostok gears up for Women's Day with Dutch tulips despite challenges

Vladivostok has started preparations for International Women’s Day. Flower shops are already taking preorders for tulip bouquets, with single stems priced between 120 and 160 rubles. The city is ensuring a steady supply despite current challenges. Tulip bulbs for the event have been imported from the Netherlands. Despite sanctions and logistical hurdles, the delivery arrived on schedule. Prices for the flowers have remained stable compared to last year.

Retail shops are selling ready-made bouquets for 2,000 to 3,000 rubles, averaging around 250 rubles per stem. Some vendors also offer bulk packs of 20 tulips, with each bud costing between 90 and 140 rubles. At wholesale markets, the price per tulip drops further to 85–95 rubles.

To manage street sales, the city administration has allocated 44 official trading spots. This move aims to regulate spontaneous selling and provide safer purchasing options for buyers. The preparations are underway with a variety of purchasing options available. Shops, vendors, and wholesale markets are offering tulips at different price points. The city’s efforts focus on ensuring a smooth and secure experience for those buying flowers.
