Burien's 2027 Gallery Program Now Accepting Artist Submissions Across Washington

The City of Burien has opened applications for its 2027 Burien Gallery Program. Artists based in Washington State are invited to submit their work for consideration. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025. Three exhibition spaces are available for selected artists. The Maverick Apartments Window offers 336 square feet, ideal for 2D or 3D pieces and installations. Merrill Gardens Senior Living provides nine windows of different sizes, also suitable for 2D or 3D work. The Burien Community Center Lobby Wall measures 14 feet wide by 8 feet tall and accepts 2D art only.

Successful applicants will receive a stipend for their exhibitions. Artists at The Maverick and Merrill Gardens will earn $250, while those at the Burien Community Center will receive $50. All artists must handle the transportation, installation, and removal of their own artwork. Notifications will be sent by mid-October 2025. The program offers a chance for Washington-based artists to display their work in public spaces. Selected pieces will be featured in 2027 across the three venues. Artists must submit their applications by the August deadline to be considered.
