Emmendingen students shine at 2026 European Student Competition with 71 awards

The Emmendingen district celebrated its participants in the 2026 European Student Competition. Held jointly with Ortenau at Europa-Park, the event showcased creative work from young students. The theme for this year’s contest was 'Your Europe: Rights, Respect—Reality?!' A total of 196 students from 11 schools in the Emmendingen district entered the competition. They presented their ideas through paintings, films, stories, posters, poetry slams, and musical pieces.

The district secured 49 local prizes and 22 regional awards. Overall, 71 students received recognition for their submissions. Rheinauen Primary School in Sasbach led with 21 awards, while Malterdingen Primary School earned 18 distinctions.

Winners hailed from Denzlingen, Emmendingen, Endingen, Malterdingen, Sasbach, and Teningen. District Administrator Hanno Hurth commended the students’ dedication and the high quality of their work. No national prizes were awarded to the district this year. The ceremony highlighted the students’ diverse talents and their engagement with European themes. Their projects demonstrated creativity and a strong understanding of the competition’s focus. The Emmendingen district remains active in fostering youth participation in such initiatives.
