Jun Takahashi Merges Art and Fashion at Paris Fashion Week

Jun Takahashi unveiled his latest collection during Paris Fashion Week. The designs drew inspiration from the paintings of Belgian artist Michaël Borremans. Rainy weather was forecast, making the timing fitting for some of the pieces. Takahashi looked to Borremans’ works featuring soldiers and flowers for this season. These images appeared on reversible linen jackets, paper cardigans, and even sneakers. The collection also included handkerchief-style patterns with polka dots, lace flowers, and teardrops in vivid colours.

For outerwear, the designer offered cotton flak vests and leather jackets with zippers and clip fastenings. Nylon anoraks in primary colours were added for practicality on wet days. The graphic patterns echoed the bold tones found in Borremans’ paintings.

Takahashi has long engaged with art, having previously worked with Cindy Sherman and Anne-Valérie Dupond. His recent focus on painting deepened his connection to Borremans’ style. The collection was aimed at those who express their art outwardly. It blended functional designs with artistic flair. Paris Fashion Week provided the stage for this fusion of fashion and fine art.
