Sharp's Karada Mate Watch debuts with real-time health tracking and sleek design
Sharp has unveiled its first smartwatch, the Karada Mate Watch. The device will hit the market on 9 July with a price tag of around $370. It promises advanced health tracking in a sleek design. The Karada Mate Watch stands out with its 1.32-inch OLED screen, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It uses a bioelectrical impedance sensor, developed with HEALBE Corporation, to monitor fluid movement and blood sugar changes. This allows the watch to calculate caloric intake in real time.
Hydration tracking is another key feature. The device continuously checks hydration levels and sends audio alerts when needed. Its display also adapts to daily routines, showing sleep analytics, heart rate data, and weather forecasts.
Sharp is launching a premium mobile app alongside the watch. The app will provide access to professional nutritionist advice, adding value beyond hardware. The Karada Mate Watch will be available in Japan from 9 July for approximately $370. Its advanced sensors and adaptive display aim to offer detailed health insights. For now, Sharp has not announced any plans for an international release.
