ATEX Malaysia 2026 kicks off as Asia's new textile and apparel hub

ATEX Malaysia 2026, the first Apparel & Textile Exhibition Malaysia, opened on June 25 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The event runs for three days, serving as a regional hub for manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers in the textile and apparel industry. It was officiated by Yang Amat Mulia Hajah Sharifah Khatreena Nuraniah Jamalullail, Anakanda Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Raja Muda Perlis, and S. Jai Shankar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MATRADE. The exhibition spans over 4,212 square meters, hosting 79 companies from six countries. Organised by Kaizer Exhibitions & Conferences Sdn Bhd, it is endorsed by MATRADE and supported by MyCEB, alongside key industry partners. H.E. Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, attended as part of a major international delegation.

S. Jai Shankar noted Malaysia’s rising appeal as a global sourcing destination, driven by shifts in supply chains. The country’s Apparel and Clothing Accessories sector recorded RM18.24 billion in total trade for 2025. Exports for that year grew by 6.2% to RM6.88 billion, with a further 27.8% surge in the first five months of 2026. ATEX Malaysia 2026 provides a platform for business connections across the textile and apparel value chain. The strong trade figures and international participation highlight Malaysia’s growing role in the global market. The event concludes on June 27, 2026.
