Six Edina Girls Make History as Rare Female Eagle Scouts

Six girls from Edina Troop 123 have earned the rank of Eagle Scout. This rare achievement places them among the top 6% of all scouts. Each of them will begin college next year. The girls first joined scouting in 2018 when rules changed to allow girls to participate. Over the years, they worked hard to earn a combined total of 126 merit badges. Their dedication led to the completion of individual Eagle Scout projects, including a Little Free Library, a bike rack, and shelving for an animal shelter.

A special ceremony honoured their success with Eagle neckerchiefs and badges. Marit Peterson became the sixth member of Troop 123 to reach this rank. The girls expressed thanks to their parents and adult volunteers for their support throughout the journey. The group now looks ahead to college, carrying the values they gained through scouting. They credit the experience with teaching them civic responsibility and a deeper appreciation for the outdoors. Their achievements mark a significant milestone for Troop 123.
