China boosts carbon fiber production with three cutting-edge new lines
China’s carbon fibre industry is advancing with a push for higher performance and stronger domestic supply chains. A major step forward came with the launch of three new production lines at a key facility in Jiangsu Province. China National Building Material Group Co has activated three high-performance carbon fibre lines at the Lianyungang base of Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Co. The first is a 5,000-ton-per-year SYT45S-48K line, designed for general-purpose use. The second is a 1,000-ton-per-year SYT70, or T1100-grade, line, specialising in high-strength fibre. The third, with a 600-ton annual capacity, produces SYM40-grade and above high-modulus fibre.
Zhongfu Shenying plays a leading role in industrialising high-performance carbon fibre in China. The new lines support industries like aerospace, new energy, high-end sports equipment, and consumer electronics. Over 95 percent of the core equipment used is now locally sourced. The launch of these lines strengthens China’s ability to produce advanced carbon fibre independently. The expansion covers a wide range of fibre types, from general-purpose to high-modulus. This move reinforces domestic supply-chain resilience in a critical industrial sector.
