ZeroHarm Sciences raises ₹65 Cr to expand plant-based wellness globally
Hyderabad-based nutrition startup ZeroHarm Sciences has secured ₹65 Cr ($7.2 Mn) in its latest funding round. The company, founded in 2020 by Sachin and Shweta Darbarwar, specialises in 100% plant-based health supplements using proprietary nano-formulation technology. Investors include Kotak Alternate Asset Managers and Alkemi Growth Capital, who see strong potential in its science-backed approach to wellness products.
The funding round was led by Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited, which contributed ₹40 Cr through its Kotak Life Sciences Fund I. Alkemi Growth Capital added ₹25 Cr to the investment. Since its launch, ZeroHarm Sciences has built a full production chain, from sourcing medicinal plants to in-house formulation and GMP-certified manufacturing.
ZeroHarm Sciences currently offers over 60 products across categories like diabetes management, heart health, and performance nutrition. These are sold through multiple channels, and the startup has already served more than 3 lakh customers. The new funds will support expansion into international markets, including the US, UK, and the Middle East, while also scaling up research and manufacturing operations.
A portion of the investment will go towards developing a 'Trust over Promise' platform. This initiative aims to prove supplement efficacy by tracking measurable health outcomes for users. The move comes as the Indian nutraceutical sector grows rapidly, with over 12 startups—such as Curefoods, Kapiva, and OZiva—securing significant funding since 2020 for products in personalised nutrition, immunity, sports supplements, and ayurvedic functional foods.
With ₹65 Cr in fresh capital, ZeroHarm Sciences plans to strengthen its brand presence across India and push into global markets. The funding will also enhance its research capabilities and manufacturing capacity. The startup's focus on transparency and plant-based innovation aligns with rising demand for evidence-backed wellness solutions.
