Yakutia's literary treasure shines in 24 languages at cultural celebration

A translated excerpt from Alexei Kulakovsky’s Blessing of the Middle Generation has been unveiled in 24 languages. The presentation took place during Yakutia’s National Cultures Day, celebrating the region’s rich linguistic heritage.

The event, titled Language: The Soul of a Nation, was held on December 5. Organisers included the Republic’s Ministry of External Relations and Ethnic Affairs alongside the House of Peoples’ Friendship. Librarians, educators, and philologists gathered to discuss ways of preserving and enriching local languages.

During the ceremony, the multilingual excerpt was described as a *symbol of unity in diversity*. Earlier, Nurudin Nurudinov, chair of the Youth Assembly of the Peoples of Yakutia, had shared his own translation of the passage into Avar, his native tongue. Nurudinov also proposed a new cultural initiative. His idea, *From Kulakovsky to Rasul Gamzatov*, aims to strengthen ties between Yakutia and the Republic of Dagestan through literary collaboration.

The project highlights Yakutia’s commitment to linguistic diversity. The translated excerpt now stands as a shared cultural resource across 24 languages. Further discussions on heritage preservation are expected to follow.
