Vasily Yemelyanenko's Magadan Feast Finally Revealed After Yearlong Wait
A video of celebrity chef Vasily Yemelyanenko’s visit to Magadan has just been released—over a year after his trip. The footage captures his culinary adventure as part of his popular show Vasya Will Feed You. During the visit, he cooked a large-scale gourmet meal using local Kolyma ingredients for residents to enjoy free of charge.
Yemelyanenko arrived in Magadan in April as the 28th stop on his travelling cooking show. His mission was simple: prepare a feast for locals using regional produce. Teaming up with the head chef of Wild North restaurant, he crafted a dish featuring 200 kilograms of Magadan shrimp.
The menu also included a giant cauldron of pearl barley in bisque sauce, roasted cauliflower, and a warming hot drink. The meal was served to residents as part of the show’s signature free tasting event. The episode, filmed during his 2023 tour, has now been published, offering viewers a glimpse of Magadan’s culinary culture through the chef’s lens.
The delayed release of the video brings Yemelyanenko’s Magadan experience to a wider audience. His collaboration with Wild North highlighted the region’s seafood and traditional flavours. The event marked another successful stop in his ongoing series of public tastings across Russia.
