UAE's Edge of Life Raises AED2.822 Billion to End Childhood Hunger Globally

The UAE's Edge of Life campaign has raised over AED2.822 billion to fight childhood hunger worldwide. Launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on 13 February 2026, the initiative surpassed its original AED1 billion goal by more than double.

The funds will help rescue five million children from hunger and prevent 30 million more from life-threatening malnutrition.

Sheikh Mohammed announced the campaign with a call for global solidarity. Donations poured in through digital platforms, SMS, and local community drives. Over 44,208 contributors—including individuals, businesses, and major humanitarian groups—supported the effort.

Individual donations alone exceeded AED707 million. A key highlight was a $300 million partnership to expand nutrition programmes worldwide. The campaign also teamed up with UNICEF, Save the Children, and Action Against Hunger to strengthen its reach. Sheikh Mohammed later praised the overwhelming public response. The final total, revealed before Ramadan ended, marked one of the UAE's largest humanitarian drives against child malnutrition.

The Edge of Life campaign will now direct its funds toward emergency food aid and long-term nutrition projects. The initiative's success reflects broad participation from both local and international donors. Officials have not yet detailed how the money will be allocated across regions or specific programmes.
