SWEG boosts Ortenau leisure travel with new bus routes in 2026

SWEG has expanded its leisure bus services in the Ortenau region, offering more connections from early April 2026. The new routes include daily trips to Europa-Park, a bike shuttle to Geisberg, and additional stops at Langenhard, Schönberg, and Biberach. All services operate under the standard fares of the Ortenau Transport Association.

Starting on April 5, 2026, a bike shuttle will run every Sunday and public holiday until October 25, 2026. This service can carry up to 16 bicycles free of charge, with stops at Geisberg and other key locations. The shuttle aims to support cyclists exploring the region during the warmer months.

The Europa-Park bus line will now operate year-round, providing daily connections between Lahr and Rust. This route ensures regular access to the popular theme park for both locals and visitors. An extra weekday service has also been added for Langenhard, improving transport links in the area. Another leisure route will run on Sundays and holidays, connecting Lahr to Biberach in the Kinzig Valley via Schönberg. All SWEG leisure buses will depart from Lahr starting in early April 2026. Passengers can use the Deutschlandticket on these routes, making travel more affordable and convenient.

The expanded services provide more frequent and flexible transport options for residents and tourists. With the Deutschlandticket accepted across all routes, travel costs remain accessible. The new connections are set to improve mobility in the Ortenau region from spring 2026 onwards.
