Sverdlovsk Region launches bold Healthy Lifestyle Initiative with federal support
A new Healthy Lifestyle Initiative has launched in Sverdlovsk Region with federal government backing. Governor Denis Pasler announced the programme as part of a broader push to improve public health and encourage active ageing among residents.
The initiative will focus on personalised prevention and creating environments that support health for all age groups. Key areas include better nutrition, increased physical activity, and easier access to medical services. Governor Pasler has also introduced remote sick leave processing, allowing residents to manage health-related paperwork online.
Local authorities, healthcare professionals, nonprofits, and volunteer groups will jointly oversee the project. The Ministry of Agro-Industry and Consumer Market will expand healthy recipes options, while the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports develops more accessible sports programmes. Schools will also see changes, with the Ministry of Education reinforcing healthy eating principles in cafeterias and curricula.
To engage the community, residents can vote on a regional campaign symbol from February 18 to 24. The initiative builds on existing cultural and athletic programmes, with plans for further innovations in the coming months.
The scheme aims to make healthy living a routine part of daily life in Sverdlovsk Region. By combining government support, public participation, and targeted sports programmes, officials hope to create lasting improvements in residents' wellbeing. Remote sick leave and expanded food and sports options mark the first steps in this long-term effort.
