Escaped Kangaroo is Back - Runaway kangaroo recaptured after fence breach in Otterberg
A kangaroo that escaped from its enclosure in Otterberg last week has been safely recaptured. The animal had been on the loose since Wednesday after a fallen tree damaged its fencing.
The escape began when a tree crashed into the enclosure's fence, creating an opening. While most of the kangaroos were quickly rounded up, one remained missing for days.
On Saturday afternoon, the owner, Erwin Schablowski, finally tracked it down. A tip-off led him to the kangaroo's location, and after a two-hour effort, he managed to secure it with a net.
The kangaroo is now back in its enclosure, and the damaged fence has been repaired. No further incidents have been reported since the recapture.
