Pushkar's Legendary Camel Fair Returns with Trade, Tradition, and Thrills in 2025
The Pushkar livestock fair will return to Rajasthan from October 30 to November 5, 2025. This annual event draws traders, pilgrims, and tourists from across India and abroad. Over 300,000 people are expected to attend the week-long celebration of culture, trade, and tradition.
The fair begins with the trading of camels, horses, and other livestock in its first few days. Thousands of animals will be bought and sold, continuing a long-standing tradition. Alongside trading, competitive displays and sporting events will take place throughout the week.
A Food and Craft Festival will mark the mid-point of the event. Stalls around the fairgrounds will offer jewellery, textiles, silver ornaments, tie-and-dye fabrics, and Nagaur beaded necklaces. Visitors can also enjoy hot air balloon rides, camel and horse rides, desert excursions, and quad biking.
The fair coincides with Karthika Purnima, a sacred time in the Hindu lunar month of Kartik. Many pilgrims will visit Pushkar Lake for ritual bathing during this period. The event will close with prize distributions, a special camel and horse program, and a grand Maha Aarti at the lake.
Pushkar is easily accessible via Jaipur International Airport, Ajmer Railway Station, or road connections from major Rajasthan cities. Organisers have arranged transport links to accommodate the large number of attendees.
The Pushkar Camel Fair remains one of India's most vibrant cultural gatherings. It blends commerce, spirituality, and entertainment in a single event. With activities for traders, pilgrims, and tourists, the fair continues to attract global attention year after year.
