Purina Invests Millions to Advance Pet Health Research at Top Vet Schools
Purina has funded new programmes at five leading US veterinary schools. The donations will support research and education in pet health, nutrition, and behaviour. Each institution will establish a specialised initiative under the partnership.
Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine will launch the Purina Cornell Veterinary Nutrition Program. The initiative aims to advance studies in animal nutrition and dietary health.
At the University of Pennsylvania, the School of Veterinary Medicine will create the Purina Canine Cognition and Performance Program. This project will focus on understanding and improving canine behaviour and working abilities. The University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine will introduce the Purina Endowed Professor of Dermatology. The role will support long-term research into skin conditions and treatments for pets. Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences will develop the Purina Nutrition Suite. The facility will provide advanced resources for studying animal diets and their health impacts. Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine will establish the Purina Professorship in Veterinary Nutrition. This position will lead research and teaching in nutritional science for animals.
These programmes will expand veterinary research across multiple disciplines. The funding ensures dedicated resources for nutrition, dermatology, and behavioural studies. Each school will now have a Purina-backed initiative to support future advancements in pet care.
