Nizhny Novgorod's Children's Flea Market blends fun and financial lessons

Nizhny Novgorod’s Sverdlov Square will host the annual Children’s Flea Market on June 6. The event coincides with International Children’s Day and runs from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Organisers aim to teach kids about money, responsibility, and caring for their possessions through hands-on activities. The marketplace lets young sellers offer their own toys, books, and other items. It forms part of the Iskra programme within the Capital of Sunsets festival. Alongside trading, children can enjoy creative workshops, board games, and sports activities.

Three performances of *Theater of Living Stories* will take place at 12:20 PM, 1:30 PM, and 2:40 PM. Later in the afternoon, young DJs and beginner musicians will perform live. A food area will serve drinks, cotton candy, and hot corn throughout the day. Admission is free for all events, though some activities require on-site registration. Spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Interactive zones, children’s yoga, and educational lectures will also be available.

The flea market combines fun with learning, giving children practical experience in trading and financial skills. Free entry ensures all families can take part in the festivities. Organisers expect a lively day of entertainment, creativity, and hands-on education.
