Kuwait expands therapeutic nutrition clinics to 66 nationwide

The Ministry of Health has expanded its therapeutic nutrition services by opening four new clinics. These facilities bring the total number of such centres nationwide to 66. The move aims to improve access to specialised dietary care for patients across the country. Before this expansion, only 12 therapeutic nutrition centres operated in the country. The newly opened clinics are located at Al-Egaila Health Center, Mubarak Al-Kabeer East Health Center, Al-Mutlaa N11 Center, and Al-Mutlaa N8 Center. Each facility falls under the supervision of the Nutrition and Feeding Department.

The clinics focus on nutritional education and promoting healthy lifestyle habits based on proven dietary systems. Patients receive personalised treatment plans after a full health assessment. These plans target obesity, chronic diseases, and other diet-related conditions.

Dr. Hasnaa Ayad, Director of the Nutrition and Feeding Department, explained that the expansion strengthens therapeutic nutrition services in primary health care. She highlighted that proper nutrition plays a key role in preventing chronic diseases and enhancing quality of life.

The department also ensures that medical staff receive ongoing training. Treatment programs are regularly updated to meet international standards in therapeutic nutrition. With 66 clinics now operational, more patients can access tailored dietary support. The new centres provide assessments, individualised plans, and education on healthy eating. This growth reflects the Ministry's commitment to improving public health through evidence-based nutrition services.
