Künstlerhaus Marktoberdorf Opens First-Ever Public Call for 2026 Exhibitions

Künstlerhaus Marktoberdorf is marking its 25th anniversary with a new opportunity for artists. For the first time, creators can apply to showcase their work at the well-known venue. The open call invites submissions from individuals or teams across all artistic disciplines.

The Dr. Geiger-Haus Art and Culture Foundation has announced the open submission period. Artists and curators can propose experimental projects for an eight-week summer exhibition in 2026. There are no age or location restrictions, and both indoor and outdoor spaces—covering around 550 square metres—are available for use.

Applications must include a curatorial concept and a clear plan for execution. The deadline for entries is April 8, 2026. Organisers have not yet revealed how many submissions they expect for this inaugural open call.

The selected artist or team will present their work in a dedicated exhibition running throughout the summer. The initiative expands access to Künstlerhaus Marktoberdorf's facilities while celebrating its long-standing role in the arts. Further details on the chosen project will be announced after the submission period closes.
