Historic Village School Gets First Major Renovation in 66 Years

A village school in Bolshoye Mokroye is set for its first major renovation in 66 years. The project will bring modern facilities, improved safety, and upgraded infrastructure to the ageing building.

Demolition work at the school is almost finished. Crews will soon begin repairing the façade, roof, staircases, and interior partitions. New doors and plumbing fixtures will also be installed throughout the building.

The renovation includes a full overhaul of essential systems. Electrical wiring, water supply lines, and sewage pipes will all be replaced. Extra measures are being taken to protect the basement from groundwater flooding. Safety and comfort are key priorities. The school will receive new ventilation, CCTV, security, and fire alarm systems. An outdoor fitness zone for students will also be added to the grounds. Local authorities are keeping a close watch on the project's progress. They are ensuring all work stays on schedule to meet the planned completion date.

Once finished, the school will have modern facilities and improved safety standards. The upgrades will provide a better learning environment for students and staff. Officials have not confirmed whether other schools in the Nizhny Novgorod region will undergo similar renovations.
