Gold prices hit record highs as Antam's gold nears IDR 2.2M per gram

Gold prices have surged since early August 2025, with Antam's gold reaching IDR 2,234,000 per gram by the end of September. The steady climb reflects growing investor confidence in gold as a defensive asset amid global uncertainty. Market trends suggest this upward movement is likely to continue for the rest of the year.

Between April and September 2025, global gold prices rose from around $2,300 per ounce to over $2,600 per ounce. This increase was driven by geopolitical tensions, inflation concerns, and speculation about a US Federal Reserve rate cut. In Indonesia, Antam's gold prices followed a similar pattern, climbing from roughly IDR 1.4 million per gram to IDR 1.6 million per gram, though with slightly less volatility due to local premiums and currency fluctuations.

By late September, Antam's retail gold price hit IDR 2,234,000 per gram. The Corporate Safe product, aimed at business customers, saw its purchase price rise to IDR 2,174,600 per gram. Demand in Asia, particularly for physical gold, has also played a key role in pushing prices higher.

Analysts attribute the rally to investors seeking safe-haven assets. Ongoing geopolitical risks and uncertain economic conditions have made gold an attractive option for preserving value. With macroeconomic factors still unstable, expectations remain strong for further price gains before the year ends.

Antam's gold now trades above IDR 2.2 million per gram, mirroring broader global trends. The combination of Fed policy speculation, Asian demand, and geopolitical instability has reinforced gold's appeal. Market observers anticipate sustained strength in prices through the final months of 2025.
