Germany Launches Unified Business Hub for Startups and SMEs Nationwide

Germany's support for businesses has taken a major step forward with the launch of the German Business Workshop. Known as Unternehmenswerkstatt Deutschland, this initiative replaces the earlier Startup Workshop and now assists companies at every stage—from founding and growth to long-term operations and succession planning. The programme combines digital tools with expert advice to create a central hub for entrepreneurs.

The German Business Workshop was developed to provide consistent, high-quality support across the country. It builds on the work of 53 Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IHKs), which offer free digital services tailored to founders and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). These online resources ensure uniform standards, making it easier for businesses to access reliable guidance.

Beyond digital help, the initiative connects users with in-person advisory services where available. While not all IHKs have confirmed additional physical locations, the network aims to blend online and offline support. This approach helps bridge gaps in the existing Chamber of Commerce system, offering both self-service tools and direct expert consultations. Originally focused on startups, the workshop's scope has now widened. It supports businesses through later phases, including expansion, financial security, and succession planning. The goal is to provide continuous assistance as companies evolve, rather than limiting help to the early stages.

The German Business Workshop brings together free digital resources and expert advice under one platform. It ensures businesses can find funding, networking opportunities, and long-term support in a single place. The initiative reflects a broader effort to modernise and streamline Germany's business support services.
