Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi Rethink Their £15M Cotswolds Estate After Floods
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have revealed plans to transform their Cotswolds estate into a long-term home. The couple bought Kitesbridge Farm near Burford for £15 million in 2024 but left after just weeks due to flooding issues and a lack of proper equestrian facilities.
The pair initially invested £7.5 million in renovations at the property. However, repeated flooding from the nearby River Windrush disrupted their stay. After listing the house for sale in July 2024 with no success, they decided to adapt the estate instead.
New plans now propose demolishing an existing agricultural building to create horse stables. The design includes two loose boxes, storage for equestrian gear, and a style that matches the farm's traditional look. The stables aim to support Portia's passion for horses, though the exact number of animals they currently own remains undisclosed. Despite the early setbacks, the couple now intends to settle permanently at Kitesbridge Farm. Their latest application suggests a commitment to making the property work for their lifestyle.
The proposed stables would allow the couple to keep horses on-site while maintaining the farm's character. If approved, the changes would mark a shift from their initial struggles to a more tailored living arrangement. The plans still require local authority approval before construction can begin.
