Elban's 90th anniversary sparks creative contests for locals

Elban is marking its 90th anniversary with a series of creative events for residents. The celebrations include contests that highlight the town’s history, people, and landmarks in unique ways.

Two main competitions have been launched to encourage participation. Both offer locals a chance to contribute stories, tours, or designs linked to Elban’s past and present.

The first contest, ‘Armchair Excursion’, invites participants to create a virtual tour of Elban. Entrants must submit a video tour alongside a completed entry form. The deadline for this competition is October 1.

The second initiative, *‘History. Events. People’*, focuses on short stories about the town. Each submission should be no longer than 300 characters and can centre on a person, organisation, or key event. This campaign runs until **December 1**. Beyond storytelling, residents can also take part by designing a new logo for Elban. The creative projects aim to bring the community together while celebrating the town’s long history.

The contests provide a way for locals to engage with Elban’s heritage in different formats. Submissions will be reviewed after the respective deadlines, with selected entries showcasing the town’s 90-year journey. Winners and featured contributions will be announced in the coming months.
