Eifel's Krewelshof Farm Unveils Stunning Tulip Season with 250,000 Blooms
The tulip season has begun in the Eifel region, with Krewelshof farm in Mechernich opening its annual display. Nearly 250,000 bulbs were planted this year—twice as many as last—offering visitors a vibrant show of 50 different varieties. This marks only the second year the farm has hosted the tulip exhibition. Organisers remain uncertain about visitor numbers but have prepared for a steady flow of guests. The event runs until May 10, with staggered blooms ensuring colour throughout the season.
Some fields are already flowering, while others still await warmer spring weather. Bibiane Bieger, the farm's junior manager, noted that unfavourable March conditions affected the opening weekend. Despite this, the display remains on track. Visitors can stroll among the tulip beds along narrow paths designed to protect the flowers. Creative installations and private photography sessions are also available. A smaller version of the show is taking place at Krewelshof's sister location in Lohmar, where 200,000 tulips will be on display from March 28 to May 10, 2025.
The exhibition at Krewelshof Eifel offers a mix of early blooms and upcoming flowers, ensuring a changing landscape over the coming weeks. With expanded plantings and new features, the farm aims to build on last year's success while adapting to unpredictable spring weather.
