Ehra's New Mud Play Area Opens to Delighted Children and Families
A new mud play area has officially opened at Sandweg playground in Ehra. Deputy Mayor Peter Albrecht cut the ribbon to mark the occasion. The event drew dozens of children eager to test the fresh attraction. The mud play area was built over winter and is now ready for use. It was one of several projects greenlit by the local council to improve playgrounds. The Playground Working Group, led by councilwomen Kirsikka Lansmann and Katinka Ditges, has been driving these upgrades.
After the inauguration, families gathered for a picnic with bratwurst, sweets, and drinks. The celebration gave children the chance to explore the new space, which quickly became a hit. Further improvements are planned across Ehra's playgrounds. This spring, the spinning top at Molkereistraße playground will be replaced. Additional tree plantings are also scheduled to provide more shade and sun protection in the coming months.
The new mud play area is now a permanent feature at Sandweg playground. More upgrades, including renewed equipment and extra shade, will follow in the near future. The council and working group continue to focus on enhancing local play spaces for families.
