Burien's Shred Day 2026 Offers Free Document & Electronics Disposal on May 30
Burien’s annual Shred Day returns on Saturday, May 30, 2026, offering free disposal of sensitive documents and old electronics. The event, now in its eighth year for shredding and fourth for e-cycling, will take place at 431 SW Ambaum Blvd. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunrise Financial Services is hosting the event, providing on-site shredding with no restrictions on the amount of paper. Residents can safely discard old bills, medical records, and personal files without charge.
E-cycling services will also be available for approved electronics, including laptops, tablets, printers, modems, routers, and game consoles. Some limits may apply to ensure all attendees have a chance to participate. Items like televisions, plastic materials, batteries, and binder clips will not be accepted. In addition to shredding and e-cycling, the event will collect unopened, non-perishable food items for the local food bank.
The free event runs for three hours, giving residents a secure way to dispose of unwanted documents and electronics. Organisers aim to support both data security and community needs through food donations.
